Watch: Meet “the cat-rescuer of Wuhan” who’s saving the city’s stranded pets amidst COVID-19 outbreak

Volunteers are stepping in as over 30,000 pets estimated to be stranded in Wuhan.

Thousands of pets have been left alone during the ongoing lockdown of Wuhan, the Chinese city at the centre of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Volunteers have been helping to provide food and water to pets whose owners cannot return to the city. Among those volunteers is Ye Jialin, who visits some of the 30,000 stranded pets across the city.

“After Wuhan was sealed I decided to volunteer to feed cats and dogs of people who can’t return here because of the quarantine”, Jialin explains.
