Over 20 major fashion brands including giants like Nike and Adidas and luxury designers like Chanel and Vivian Westwood have made a commitment to stop using exotic skins in their products - but Louis Vuitton is still clinging to the cruelty of the past. Louis Vuitton needs to get with the times and end this outdated, archaic dependence on exotic animal skins to meet the demands of today’s compassionate consumers. They are still using crocodile skins to make wallets, shoes, and handbags.

Every year, more than 30,000 crocodiles are violently killed in Vietnam just so that out of touch clothing brands can use their skins to make wallets, shoes, and handbags. These helpless animals endure horrific living conditions crowded into small, barren, tanks and cages for months or even a few years before they are killed. Crocodiles can live for 60 years in the wild, but in the name of old-fashioned fashion they are killed before they even reach the age of two. These ancient, feeling, creatures often have their throats cut and their spinal cords severed but continue to remain conscious as they are skinned alive, suffering unimaginable agony.

Pioneering animal advocate, lover of vegan fashion, and thought leader, Elizabeth Novogratz, was called at an early age to devote her life to elevating all animal life after witnessing inhumane animal agriculture and trade in the U.S. and abroad. After a decade of brave travel into places most of us could not, she founded Species Unite: a nonprofit that brings the brightest people and best non-animal products together on one curated media platform. Their popular podcast uncovers the latest in “future food” (cultivated meat), vegan fashion, and plant-forward meals. What we think, wear, and eat matters, now more than ever.
